Christmas Cheer at Bodega Kolkata- Feast for eyes and soul

I baked a dozen cookies

and I put them on a plate,

and I set them out for Santa Claus,

except for one I ate.

So now that winter is finally here (Hopefully Jon Snow will save us!), Bodega is ready to serve up its Christmas special menu from the 15th of December continuing right upto the 1st of Jan.

Here’s a sneak peak of some of the cheers plated up.

For the appetisers, the Bacon Wrapped Prawns are the best way to start a winter meal, perfectly cooked prawns covered with salty, crisp bacon served on a creamy base with a tinge of sweetness. Have the beauties on their own or cream it up, its finger food at its best!

The Honey Mustard Marinated Sausages made with Kasundi keeping the Indian palate in mind, though well cooked could do well with some more mustard to add more flavour to it.

The Onion O’s (your good old onion rings) is a good choice for vegetarians. Tasty and fresh but not as crisp as we would have liked, they go perfectly with the heavenly onion ash dip.

The mains lined up are one of the best we have seen in a special menu and captures the essence of Christmas food perfectly.

The Green Garlic Risotto is one of the best Risottos in the city! And credit must go to Chef Sagar for bringing us a risotto which is hearty, flavoursome, creamy and oh-so-yum.

The Mushroom Forest is a treat to the eyes as well as the palate. Handmade tortellini filled with the goodness of Shitake, Oyster and Button Mushrooms with dehydrated Porcini sprinkled on top. This is a ticket to mushroom heaven.

The Slow Braised Pork Belly is a dish crafted by imagination. Beautiful maple glazed poached apples and delectable pork bellies make for one colourful dream. You can actually feel the flavours pop in your mouth as you eat.

 Unfortunately, we couldn’t have desserts as they weren’t ready the day of the tasting. But if you try them, please let us know how they taste.

Bodega will also have a special Brunch on 25th of December and 1st of January.
